A little tip!

I made a purchase yesterday that stated in the description that it was sold in .psd format. When I got the product there were no individual layers and it should have been sold in .png format. You could not use it with patterned papers at all and it seriously washed out the color of any solid papers because you had to use the blending mode of overlay. I contacted the owner of the store and as yet she will not give me my money back even though the files are not usable. The store owner talked about degradation of quality to save them as a .png file. This is inaccurate. The quality changes by 1/1000th of a pixel per inch which does NOT degrade your quality at all. The store owner is saying that the reason they sell them as .psd files is because you go from 300 dpi to 299.99 dpi. In other words, you would have to have a image 1000 inches wide before you lost a single pixel!

Your tip: Beware of ANYTHING sold in .psd format! You may not get what you think you're getting! Plus, .psd is a large format so it would just take up a lot of space on your hard drive.

I've been a busy bee lately! I don't know how I managed to have the time with 3 small children, but I did it! I even squeezed in a check-up yesterday for Matthew.

Now on to the scrappin' stuff. I have new products in great supply in my little corner of the shoppe.

First - get back to school basics with Summer's Over.

Love cardboard - well here's the commercial use version of Cardboard Galore. There is also a smaller pack for personal use!

ScrapCloud Anniversary

July will mark 1 year since ScrapCloud opened! And we'll have things going on throughout the month of July! One of the first things is a Layout Challenge! It appears a little small here, but basically you'll be given 2-3 items from which to start a layout. The rest is up to you! Entries will be judged on originality, pieces used, and composition. First, second, and third place prizes will be given!

To Honor Carla

I posted this on the ScrapCloud blog and in the news on the site, but I wanted to post it here well. Carla Gibson, a designer at Oscraps, passed away on June 2nd leaving behind her husband George and daughter Taylor. I have donated 2 kits to which will be sold at Oscraps, but are also available here in the ScrapCloud Shoppe. For a limited time, all proceeds from the sale of these kits will go to help George and Taylor ease the burden of medical expenses from Carla's hospital, surgery, etc. The designing community has opened their hearts to donate items to this cause. Won't you open your hearts as well?

Welcome to my blog!

Well, I finally managed to put together a blog for myself. Today was really busy. Not only did I put together a blog for myself, but April and I finally managed to get one together for ScrapCloud. I plan on updating as often as possible. Special thanks to April, aka creativeapples, for use of her gerbera daisy stickers in my page header! This so far has been a lot of fun! Enjoy, and have a good weekend!
